OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police on Monday announced bust of an Internet casino in the Minami entertainment area for permitting illegal gambling, reports the Sankei Shimbun.
On Saturday, officers raided parlor For You, located in Higashi Shinsaibashi, and took manager Susumu Tozawa, 40, and four others into custody for providing baccarat gambling on computers between January and this month.
To carry out the gambling, the operation utilized points in lieu of cash. For the sale of the points, officers also arrested Nobuyuki Shibahara, a 51-year-old employed in the real estate industry. Shibara allegedly sold points for gambling between December of last year and March.
According to Nippon News Network (April 6), the operation was believed to be providing funding to organized crime.
