TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after a woman was found fatally stabbed and a man injured at a “snack” bar in Nishitokyo City early Tuesday, reports NHK (Mar. 25).
At just after 4:00 a.m., police responding found the female owner of bar, aged in her 30s, and the man, aged in his 40s, collapsed inside.
The two had multiple stab wounds on their bodies. The woman was confirmed dead at the scene. The man had cuts and other wounds on his body, police said.
A knife believed to have been used to stab both persons was found at the scene.
About 90 minutes before, police received a call from another establishment nearby. “Water is flowing from a snack bar and we’re having trouble doing business,” the caller said.
According to investigators, the snack bar was locked upon the arrival of police. After they called the bar’s management, they entered to find both persons collapsed.
At this point in the investigation, police do not believe a third party was involved and that the incident took place during a dispute between the two persons.
