OSAKA (TR) – A 27-year-old man in custody for allegedly dumping the corpse of his male associate at a port in Kaizuka City last year has been further accused of murder.
Last October, restaurant owner Ryoki Nakamura allegedly suffocated part-time worker Ryuto Miyagi, 26, by blocking his nose and mouth with cloth tape, reports NHK (Jan. 27).
Police have not disclosed whether Nakamura, who lives in Osaka City’s Chuo Ward, admits to the charges.
On November 9, Miyagi was found dead with his legs tied with tape on a concrete tetrapod at the port of Kaizuka City.

Police initially said the cause of death was shock from being tied with tape from the knees down. However, investigators later discovered that his nose and mouth had also been blocked with cloth tape, which led police to conclude that the cause of death was suffocation.
In December, Osaka police arrested Nakamura along with two other people for kidnapping Miyagi and imprisoning him in a car. Earlier this month, police rearrested him for abandoning the body of Miyagi in the sea.
According to the police, Nakamura and Miyagi are believed to have had a dispute over the guarantor for a property for a restaurant in Osaka they were planning to run together.
