TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 39-year-old man who is suspected of carrying out indecent conduct with several women lured to a hotel in Minato Ward under the false promise of working out at a gym.
On the morning of February 7, a camera at the Azabu Police Station captured company employee Tomoki Okamoto arriving in a squad car, reports Fuji News Network (Feb. 10).
Prior to that, he was apprehended at a hotel on suspicion of indecent conduct with a woman in her 30s whom he had met for the first time through a dating app.
When questioned, Okamoto denied the allegations. “It was done with consent,” he said.

According to police, his method was to invite a woman he met on a dating app to train at a gym. “Let’s train at my private gym,” he wrote. However, the destination actually a hotel.
Once inside the room, Okamoto approached the woman “You’re my type!” he exclaimed. After the woman flatly refused his advances, he picked her up in his arms and dropped her on the bed.
After Okamoto began touching her body, the woman desperately resisted, pushed the suspect aside and left the room. She then rushed down the emergency stairs.
The company that operates the dating app has received several complaints of similar problems. Police are continuing the investigation, believing that Okamoto may have been responsible for the other cases as well.
