KAGOSHIMA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a male high school student over the alleged murder of a 55-year-old woman in a house on Tokunoshima Island last year, reports NHK (Feb. 2).
On November 20, nursery school teacherFusako Kikuchi was found stabbed to death by what appeared to be a knife at her house in Isen Town.
On the night of February 1, police arrested an 18-year-old male high school student living in Kagoshima Prefecture on suspicion of murder and trespassing.
According to the police, he confessed to the charges. “There is no doubt that I stabbed her to death with a kitchen knife,” he said.
The victim and the suspect were acquaintances. Police also said that there were no signs of ransacking at the victim’s home at the time of the body.
Police are continuing the investigation to learn the circumstances that led to the incident.
