TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police early Tuesday arrested a male Chinese national over the alleged stabbing of a woman at a love hotel in Toshima Ward, reports Nippon News Network (Feb. 25).
A little after midnight, a call was made to police to report that someone had been stabbed at the hotel, located in the in Nishi-Ikebukuro area.
Officers arriving at a room in the hotel found the woman, aged in her 20s, with a stab wound to the chest.
Upon transport to a hospital, the woman was conscious and able to talk, police said.
Also inside the room at the time of the discovery of the woman was the 35-year-old Chinese man. After he admitted to stabbing the woman, he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police are now investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
