SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police are questioning a man as a part of a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of a 39-year-old woman inside a love hotel in Saitama City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 26).
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday, personnel from the Restay Nero hotel, located in Iwatsuki Ward, found the body of Emi Ikura lying face-up atop a bed inside a room. Her body had received stab wounds in more than 10 locations, including the chest and abdomen.
Officers from the Iwatsuki Police Station later confirmed her dead at the scene.
At 3:45 a.m. the day before, Ikura entered the hotel with a male acquaintance. According the Yomiuri Shimbun (Oct. 26), he later left the room alone. Personnel from the hotel entered the room after the guests had not checked within 24 hours.
On Monday, police apprehended the male acquaintance. He is now undergoing questioning about his possible involvement in the case.
