OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested a 62-year-old man on drug charges who is believed to have accompanied a woman to a love hotel prior to the discovery of her corpse inside a room on Sunday, reports the Nikkan Sports (Mar. 12).

At around 10:50 a.m., an employee at Moshi Moshi Pierrot Sakuramiya, located in Miyakojima Ward, tipped off police about a “woman who is not breathing.”

Officers from the Miyakojima Police Station found the nude body of the woman lying face-up on the floor near the bed inside the room. She was confirmed dead at the scene.

According to police, the body did not exhibit any external wounds. A driver’s license found in the room revealed her to be 37 years old.

Just prior to the discovery, a man checked out of the room by himself. Later that day, police arrested Hiromi Tamai on a road in Nishinari Ward for the possession of kakuseizai, or stimulant drugs.

The suspect indicated that he had been with the woman. “I used stimulants with the woman at the hotel, and when I woke up in the morning her body had gone cold,” the suspect is quoted, according to the Mainichi Broadcasting System (Mar. 12). “So I fled with the drugs.”

Police will use the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death of the woman.
