ISHIKAWA (TR) – Ishikawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 30-year-old male after a stabbing incident at a love hotel in Hakusan City left one person dead, reports TBS News (Nov. 17).
At around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a staff member of the hotel tipped off police, saying a male customer had reported “stabbing someone” in a room.
Officers from the Hakusan Police Station arriving at the room found a woman, believed to be in her 20s, collapsed with her body riddled with stab wounds. After being rushed to a hospital in Kanazawa City, she was pronounced dead about 2.5 hours later.
Police subsequently arrested Nobuhiro Niwa, a resident of Toyama City, on charges of attempted murder. A knife was also found at the scene. “I thought about killing her so I stabbed her many times,” the suspect is quoted by police in admitting to the allegations.
Police are now attempting to identify the woman and determine a motive for the crime.
