SAGA (TR) – Early Saturday morning, an explosion caused minor damage at the entrance of Saga City love hotel, the same location where vandals struck four years ago, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (Nov. 16).

A male witness said that he heard a blast at around 4:30 a.m. at the love hotel, located in the Aikeicho district, and could see a bright light emanating from the building. A staff member confirmed that a section of tiles near the front desk had been burned and glass in the entry way shattered.

Based on explosive residue being found in the entrance and the glass having shattered away from the structure, police suspect that an explosive device was thrown into the building.

Saga Prefectural Police are attempting to confirm whether incident is related to an incident from 2009, when the structure was used a rental room facility. In that case, a dump truck rammed the building.

Police suspected organized crime involvement in the 2009 incident but the matter has yet to be resolved.
