Fukuoka Stock Exchange executive director accused of illicit photography of girls’ underwear

FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police have arrested an executive of the Fukuoka Stock Exchange over the alleged illicit photography of two high school girls on a train in Fukuoka City on Tuesday, reports NHK (Feb. 12).

At around 12:50 p.m., Shinichi Sakai, 63, allegedly used a tablet computer to take tosatsu (voyeur) footage of the underwear of the two girls, both 17, as they sat opposite him inside a carriage of the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line traveling between Kurume and Mikunigaoka.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of violating the Act on the Punishment of Photography of Sexual Imaging, Sakai denied the allegations. “I just took pictures of their legs,” he was quoted by the Ogori Police Station.

According to the Fukuoka Stock Exchange, Sakai is the exchange’s executive director. He lives in Hakata Ward.

As the incident unfolded, the high school students heard the sound of a camera shutter. They then alerted staff at Mikunigaoka Station, where Sakai got off. The suspect was later apprehended at the scene.

A representative of the Fukuoka Stock Exchange commented, “The suspect is currently in custody. We are working to understand the facts.”
