SAGA (TR) – The Saga Prefectural Board of Education announced on Thursday that it has slapped a male teacher in his 40s with a one-month suspension after he appeared in an adult video published on a subscription-based website, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (Oct. 22).
The teacher, who works at a prefectural school, admitted to the allegations. Despite receiving no financial compensation for his performance, he justified his actions to the board by stating, “I did it out of curiosity.”
According to the board, the educator was approached by the adult site’s operator via social media around July 2023. Filming took place the following month, and a single video featuring the teacher was published on the paid site in October.
The illicit appearance finally came to light in August of this year after a tip-off was sent to the school where he works. Following the exposure, the adult video was removed from the internet in September at the teacher’s request.
The disciplinary action was handed down under the Local Public Service Act for acts causing a loss of public trust.
“We take this matter very seriously,” Saga Prefecture Superintendent Naomi Kai said in a statement. “We will make every effort to thoroughly enforce disciplinary standards moving forward.”
