FUKUSHIMA (TR) – Fukushima Prefectural Police have arrested a 27-year-old restaurant manager after he left the corpse of his younger sister inside his home in Koriyama City, with the suspect now hinting he played a role in her death, reports NHK (Aug. 28).
Satoshi Kataoka was arrested and sent to prosecutors for allegedly dumping the body of 23-year-old Yuri Konnai at his residence in the Sakuta area between the night of August 27 and the early hours of the following day.
During subsequent questioning by police, Kataoka began making statements suggesting he was involved in the events that led to his sister losing her life, investigators revealed.
According to police, it is believed the victim’s remains were transported to Kataoka’s home from a different location. An initial examination of the corpse revealed no noticeable external injuries or trauma.
Authorities are now rushing to determine the exact cause of death while continuing a careful investigation into the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s demise.
