SHIMANE (TR) – Shimane Prefectural Police have arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of abandoning corpses after two bodies were discovered buried on a residential property in Izumo City, reports BSS (June 26).
The victims are believed to be the suspect’s father and older brother, according to the Izumo Police Station. Both bodies exhibited bleeding wounds and trauma to the head and abdomen.
The suspect, whose address and occupation are currently unconfirmed, is accused of burying the two men in the dirt on the grounds of a residence in the Otsucho area sometime between 7:30 p.m. on June 20 and 10:30 a.m. on June 25. He was taken into custody shortly after 4:40 a.m. on June 26.
Upon questioning, the man rejected the allegations, simply telling investigators, “I deny it.”
Officers have already recovered a shovel from the suspect’s home. Police are now rushing to officially confirm the identities of the victims and are continuing their investigation with a view toward pursuing murder charges.
