KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police are hunting for an assailant who stabbed a 31-year-old man from behind while he was exercising in a park in Yokohama City on Saturday, reports TV Asahi (June 21).
At around 6:00 p.m., a hospital in Yokohama alerted police that a man had arrived seeking treatment, telling staff he had been “pushed and stabbed.”
According to investigators, the victim, a company employee, was doing stretches at Mitsuzawa Park in Kanagawa Ward when he suddenly felt a sharp impact from behind.
After falling to the ground, he realized he had been pierced in his right flank with what appeared to be a bladed weapon.
Despite the surprise attack, the man managed to walk to the hospital on his own. His stab wound is considered minor, and his condition is not life-threatening.
Police are currently treating the incident as an assault and are analyzing security camera footage from the surrounding area in an effort to track down the attacker.
