HIROSHIMA (TR) – Police here have re-arrested a 16-year-old high school boy after he allegedly threatened a teenage female acquaintance on social media and sexually assaulted her in a mountainous area, reports RCC News (May 28).
According to police, the suspect, a resident of Hiroshima City’s Aki Ward, used a direct messaging app to threaten the teenage girl before committing the assault in the mountains of the same ward in February.
“There is no mistake,” the boy told investigators, fully admitting to allegations of non-consensual sexual intercourse.
The incident came to light after the victim came forward to file a police report. Investigators were able to cement their case after analyzing data recovered from the suspect’s smartphone.
The boy is already in police custody after being arrested on May 8 for a separate attack. In that incident, he is accused of sexually assaulting another teenage girl inside a public restroom in Aki Ward and illicitly photographing her lower body.
Police are continuing to investigate the detailed circumstances surrounding both incidents.
