SAITAMA (TR) – Police here have arrested a 41-year-old high school teacher on suspicion of attempting to sexually assault a female student inside his home, reports TV Asahi (May 15).
Ryota Motegi is accused of bringing the teenage girl to his residence on multiple occasions between April 30, 2023 and June 18, 2023, where he attempted to sexually assault her, according to police.
During police questioning, Motegi partially admitted to the allegations. “There is generally no mistake,” he told investigators, though he continues to deny certain details of the charges.
At the time of the alleged incidents, Motegi was employed at a prefectural high school in Saitama.
Investigators revealed that Motegi was the victim’s homeroom teacher. He allegedly exploited his position of authority, inviting the girl to his home under the guise of listening to her personal problems and providing counseling.
The crimes surfaced after the victim came forward to authorities. She said, “I was inappropriately touched at the home of my former homeroom teacher.”
