Hiroshima prosecutors do not indict teacher accused of raping student after ‘considering all circumstances’

HIROSHIMA (TR) – Prosecutors here have decided not to indict a former high school teacher from Hiroshima City who had been arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage girl at the school, reports Hiroshima Home TV (Apr. 17).

Twice in March 2024, the 38-year-old former teacher at a Hiroshima municipal high school is alleged to have sexually assaulted the girl at the school where he was working, knowing that she was under 16 years old.

On April 14, the Hiroshima District Public Prosecutors Office decided not to indict the man after “considering all circumstances.”

The man admitted to the charges during questioning after his arrest. The Hiroshima City Board of Education dismissed him from his position last month.
