Fukuoka police seek man, 26, for attempted murder

FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police on Tuesday issued a public arrest warrant in connection with an attempted murder case that occurred at a residence in Fukuoka City over the weekend, reports Nippon News Network (Mar. 24).

The Fukuoka Prefectural Police released a photograph of 26-year-old Akira Naka, who is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder.

According to police, Naka is suspected of stabbing a 27-year-old man in the abdomen with a knife-like object during an argument at a residence in Fukuoka City on Sunday morning.

Naka’s ex-girlfriend and her three children were living in the house. They were unharmed in the incident, police said.

The victim sustained serious injuries that will require a month to recover. He has told police that he was suspected by Naka of having a relationship with the woman.

After stabbing the man, Naka fled the scene. He was later seen with another person in security camera footage shot at multiple locations throughout the prefecture. The knife used in the crime has not yet been found.

Of medium build, Naka stands approximately 173 centimeters tall. He has short black hair.
