Man sought in murder of elderly Osaka woman fled overseas

OSAKA (TR) – Following the murder of an elderly woman in Sakai City earlier this year, police have decided to obtain an arrest warrant for a male suspect who fled overseas after the incident, reports TBS News (Mar. 19).

On the morning of January 30, the son of Keiko Kinoshita, who lived alone in the home in Nishi Ward, found her naked body in the bathtub.

The results of an autopsy revealed the cause of death to be drowning. Both of her arms and neck were fractured, police said.

Based on the subsequent investigation, including an examination of security camera footage, police have determined that an unnamed male acquaintance, aged in his 40s, is suspected of assaulting and killing Kinoshita.

After the incident, the acquaintance fled overseas.

On Thursday, police plan to obtain an arrest warrant on suspicion of murder and abandonment of a corpse.
