TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested Simon, the producer of the globally active all-girl music group XG, and three others on suspicion of possession of cocaine and marijuana, reports Nippon News Network (Feb. 23).
At around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, police found 39-year-old Simon, whose real name is Junho Sakai, and the other three suspects to be in possession of an unspecified amount of cocaine and marijuana at a hotel in Aichi Prefecture.
Two of the other three suspects — Yudai Hasegawa, 38, and Noritoshi Yanagawa, 51 — are employees of music conglomerate Avex. They were in the hotel room with Sakai at the time of the raid.

The cocaine was in four bags placed on a table. A fifth bag contained the marijuana, police said.
XG is a seven-member group. Sakai attended an XG performance in Nagoya the night before the bust.
The police division in charge of drugs and firearms had been investigating the matter after receiving an anonymous tip last year.
