On December 26, Yonekura released a statement. “I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to everyone due to the speculation that has arisen in weekly magazines and other publications, as I have not been able to inform you of my current situation until now,” she wrote.

She went on, “As some reports have stated, it is true that investigative authorities entered my home. Since then, I have consulted with my lawyers and have refrained from releasing any information in order to fully cooperate with the investigation.”

Yonekura said that she will continue to cooperate with the investigation.

“I believe that with the cooperation so far, we have reached a turning point. I understand that there will be various opinions, but I would like to move forward little by little, while expressing my gratitude to those who believe in me and support me.”

She also said that she is physically and mentally healthy.

“I would like to return to my roots and tackle each issue sincerely. We hope to receive your continued support in the future,” she concluded.
