SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police have arrested a 53-year-old man on suspicion of luring a female university student into his car earlier this month and sexually assaulting her, reports Fuji News Network (Dec. 26).
On December 12, Junya Kanno, an office worker, is suspected of sexually assaulting a female university student, aged in her 20s, in his car while it was parked in a parking lot in Saitama City.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of non-consensual intercourse, Kanno denied the charges. He said, “I didn’t do it.”
According to police, Kanno stalked the female student for over 30 minutes before the incident. “How are you? Are you fine?” he asked. He then committed the crime under the guise of giving her a ride home.
Police are also investigating whether he may have committed other crimes.
