Shiga police: Corpses found in garden of home are suspect’s parents

SHIGA (TR) – Shiga Prefectural Police have revealed that the bodies found on the property of a 50-year-old man in Otsu City earlier this month are of his parents, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (Dec. 24).

On December, police accused Kazuya Hashino of abandoning a corpse after the discovery of the bodies in the garden of his home.

According to police, the results of an autopsy revealed that the bodies are those of Hashino’s father, Kazuo, and mother, Kazuko.

The incident emerged on December 2, when a representative of the Otsu City Hall contacted the Otsu Police Station. “We don’t know where [Hashino’s] parents are,” the caller said.

A search of Hashino’s home began on December 10. The bodies was reportedly found in the garden at around 7:30 p.m.

Hatano lived with his parents. Police have not yet revealed whether he has admitted to the allegations.
