TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police are investigating a stabbing incident that left one woman dead and another two seriously injured at a residence in Tachikawa City, reports Fuji News Network (June 24).

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, emergency services received a tip from a security company about a stabbing at a residence in the Nishikicho area.

Emergency personnel arriving at the second-floor residence found a woman in her 50s unconscious with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she was confirmed dead.

Also found in the residence were the woman’s mother, aged in her 80s, and older sister, also in her 50s, with serious wounds.

All three women live in the residence together. The eldest daughter told police that she stabbed her younger sister and mother before attempting to take her own life.

Personnel from the security company alerted police to the scene after finding blood in the entrance of the apartment and the front door unlocked, according to TBS News (June 24).
