ISHIKAWA (TR) – Ishikawa Prefectural Police announced the arrest of five suspects in connection with a corpse discovered in Hakusan City last week, reports the Nippon News Network (April 9).

Two of the suspects, Hirokazu Tanaka, 38, and Ayanori Onishi, 44, turned themselves in to officers from the Okinawa Prefectural Police on Wednesday. All of the suspects have been charged with abandoning a corpse.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Friday, the body of a Ryu Minakami (38) was found wrapped in a blue tarp in a van parked inside a factory building in the Hashizumemachi area.

Minakami had received blows to the head and and stab wounds in the back. Police believe he died early on Saturday morning from a subarachnoid hemorrhage and a substantial loss of blood.

Tanaka has reportedly admitted to the allegations while the other four suspects have denied involvement.

Of the five suspects, police are focusing their investigation on Tanaka and Onishi. Police believe the victim may have experienced financial problems.

Police are also seeking to question Kanichi Kikuchi, 39, about his possible involvement in the crime.
