On August 18, Tokyo-based Futaba Publishers will release “Sayuri,” which features Uenishi lounging in a number of seductive poses and outfits.
In April, the 32-year-old Osaka native was expelled from the opposition Japan Innovation Party for missing a Diet session in March. She was later accused of funneling political funds to her father.
Promotional material for the 128-page book says that it not only chronicles her life prior to politics but it also promises to provide “the first look at the truth about the tumultuous expulsion from the Japan Innovation Party.”
On March 13, Uenishi cited ill health for her absence from a plenary session that included a vote on the country’s fiscal 2015 budget.
The day before the vote, Uenishi said she visited a Tokyo hospital after suffering from vomiting and diarrhea. However, that night she dined out with another lawmaker in which the pair visited a cabaret “show pub.”
Osaka Mayor Toru Hashimoto, who co-heads the Japan Innovation Party, made the decision to expel Uenishi.
It was later revealed that a support group of Uenishi had allocated approximately 800,000 yen for car rentals for her father, who has been serving as her secretary since December of 2013.
