NAGASAKI (TR) – Nagasaki Prefectural Police have announced that a skull found in a field in Nagasaki City two months is that of a 76-year-old man whose whereabouts had been unknown for six years, reports TBS News (May 10).
On the morning of March 10, another man working to remove a vinyl greenhouse in a field in Kitauramachi, Nagasaki discovered the skull and reported it to the police.
After conducting the necessary investigation, police determined that the skull belonged to the 76-year-old man, who lived in Kamitomachi 2-chome, Nagasaki.
The whereabouts had been unknown since 2019, when the man’s family filed a missing persons report with police.
No other bones have been found in the surrounding area. The cause of death is unknown.
Police are continuing their investigation, including whether the man’s death was the result of a crime.
