TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police are searching for a group of about 10 individuals who ambushed four men in the Kabukicho entertainment district early Saturday, leaving one victim with severe head wounds, reports TV Asahi (May 16).
At just after 3:30 a.m., police received an emergency call reporting a violent brawl on the streets of the bustling Shinjuku Ward nightlife district.
Arriving officers discovered four men, ranging in age from their 20s to their 50s, suffering from varying injuries. One victim sustained severe trauma and was found bleeding heavily from the head, though police say none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

According to eyewitness accounts and security camera footage, the four victims were suddenly swarmed by the larger group. At least one of the assailants was seen wielding what appeared to be an iron pipe.
The mob of attackers piled into a vehicle and fled the scene just minutes after the assault began.
Police are currently analyzing surveillance footage and tracking the suspects’ getaway route, treating the violent incident as a case of attempted murder.
