SHIGA (TR) – Shiga Prefectural Police have arrested a 17-year-old high school girl in Omihachiman City for allegedly stabbing her father in the neck with a pair of scissors during a domestic dispute, reports TV Asahi (Sep. 2).
On the morning of the 2nd, the teenager contacted police from her home, reporting, “I got into a fight with my father, and scissors got stuck in his throat.”
Officers rushed to the residence and found the girl’s father, a 49-year-old local government employee, collapsed and bleeding. He was immediately transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Police arrested the teenager on the spot on initial suspicion of attempted murder. Given the victim’s passing, the charge is expected to be upgraded.
During police questioning, the suspect denied having intent to kill her father.
“We got into a scuffle, and the scissors I grabbed in my hand pierced him,” she told investigators.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal altercation.
