TOTTORI (TR) – Tottori Prefectural Police have launched an investigation after the discovery of a male corpse at Yonaga Castle Ruins in Yonago City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (April 14).
At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, the body of a man attired blue work clothes and sandals was found lying face-down near a shoulder bag.
According to the Yonaga Police Station, the man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, is 170 centimeters tall and has dyed-brown hair. The body did not exhibit any external wounds. It is estimated that he had been dead for at least one month.
Police are now seeking to identify the man and determine the cause of death.
Yonaga Castle was abandoned in 1871. Located at the top of Mt. Iiyama, the site’s stone walls are open to tourists.
