TOTTORI (TR) – Tottori Prefectural Police have discovered an infant at the residence of a 35-year-old woman who is already in custody for dumping the body of another baby, reports the Nihonkai Shimbun (July 16).
On Friday, police searched the residence of Aya Nanba, located in the Iwamhicho area, and discovered the body of a baby in a storage space.
Earlier this month, police arrested Nanba after a cleaning crew found a plastic bag containing an infant with its umbilical cord in a grove of trees along a prefectural road in the same district on June 6, according to the Asahi Shimbun (July 14).
Police arrested Nanba earlier this month on charges of corpse abandonment. “I gave birth to the child,” the suspect is quoted in admitting the charges.
