TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested the manager of a noodle shop in the Ginza district of Chuo Ward for the alleged assault of his girlfriend, reports Fuji News Network (Dec. 5).

On December 2, Takehide Fukushima, 37, struck his girlfriend, aged in her 40s, in the head and allegedly attempted to kill her via strangulation inside the residence they share in Bunkyo Ward.

The woman suffered minor injuries to her face in the incident.

Fukushima, who has been charged with attempted murder, denies the allegations. “I hit her but I did not strangle her,” the suspect is quoted by police.

Fukushima is the manger of a soba noodle shop inside a famous department store in Ginza.
