TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 30-year-old male Korean national in the alleged sexual assault of a woman inside her apartment in Katsushika Ward last month, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 13).
On September 12, Eom Yun-sik, an executive at a company in the Kameido area of Koto Ward, is alleged to have trespassed into the residence of the woman, aged in her 20s, and raped her. He also allegedly stole 30,000 yen in cash from her handbag.
Eom, who has been charged with rape and theft, denies the charges. “I didn’t do it,” the suspect is quoted by police.
Eom emerged as a suspect in the case after police examined security camera footage taken near the victim’s residence. Police are now investigating how the suspect entered the premises.
