TOKYKO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 40-year-old employee at a cleaning company in a rape case dating back one decade, reports Nippon News Network (July 7).

On September 1, 2006, Motohisa Fukuda allegedly beat the head of a woman in her 20s before sexually assaulting her inside an apartment building in Adachi Ward.

Fukuda, who has been charged with rape inflicting injury, denies the charges. “I do not recall (the incident),” the suspect is quoted by police.

In committing the crime, Fukuda grabbed the woman from behind inside an elevator. “You aren’t looking at my face are you?” he reportedly said in feigning irritation before striking her head. He then dragged her to a stairwell to carry out the sexual assault.

Fukuda was arrested in a separate crime. Fingerprints left at the apartment building and security camera footage were used to identify Fukuda.
