TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Monday announced the arrest of a 26-year-old male employee at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ for picking up a teenage prostitute, reports Fuji News Network (Nov. 9).

In February, Tatsuya Niikura is alleged to have paid 8,000 yen to the girl, 15, to perform illicit acts inside an apartment in Kita Ward.

Niikura, who has been charged with violating child prostitution laws, denies the allegations, telling police that he did not know that the girl was underage.

The suspect met the girl, a third-year middle school student, via a smartphone application. In a response to a post by the girl in which she sought money, the suspect said he was able to pay. “I want to see a photo of you in a uniform,” the suspect also wrote.

Police are now investigating whether Niikura has been involved in other crimes.
