TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 53-year-old male taxi driver over the assault of a man outside a restaurant in Fuchu City who later died, reports TV Asahi (Oct. 22).
At approximately 5:30 a.m., Hiroki Suzuki repeatedly punched the man in the abdomen and chest after a quarrel broke out at an izakaya restaurant. The man was later confirmed dead at nearby hospital.
Suzuki, who has been charged with assault, admits to the allegations.
The suspect and the victim were unacquainted. The incident began when the victim began speaking in boastful terms. After the two moved outside, the man head-butted the suspect who then committed the alleged crime.
