NAGANO (TR) – Police are hunting for a knife-wielding man who trespassed into an elderly man’s residence and stabbed him in Nagano City on Saturday, reports Nippon News Network (Mar. 25).
Police received a call from the 66-year-old male victim at around 4 a.m. saying he was “stabbed by some man I don’t know.”
“I went inside after I was out working on my garden when the stranger was standing there, and then he assaulted me,” the victim told police. The suspect then fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a hospital with the knife lodged in his right abdomen, but didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police are hunting for the man, who stands about 170 centimeters tall with a medium build, on suspicion of attempted murder. He was last seen wearing a black top and blue work pants.
