
CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of the body of a 41-year-old woman inside her apartment in Chiba City, reports Nippon News Network (April 5).
At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Monday, the woman’s body was found with several stab wounds to her abdomen lying atop a futon in a room of the residence, located in Inage Ward, by her father.
Officers arriving at the apartment confirmed her dead at the scene.
The man visited the apartment after a person from his daughter’s office called to inform him that she did not arrive at work that day.
Police are viewing the case as a suicide or murder.
Update: Police are now treating the case as a murder, reports the Sankei Shimbun (April 4). A weapon has been to be found at the crime scene. The victim’s name is Rina Kayano.
