Chiba cops: Man stole women’s raincoats for ‘arousal’

CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested who has admitted to stealing dozens of women’s rain gear in Mobara City, reports TBS News (May 20).

At the end of April, Shosuke Saito allegedly trespassed into a beverage sales center and stole five raincoats for female staff members valued at approximately 25,000 yen.

Saito admits to the allegations. “When I look at a raincoat or when I sniff its odor I become particularly aroused,” the suspect is quoted by police.

According to Fuji News Network (May 20), the suspect told police he committed this same crime about 30 times.

A search of the residence of the suspect by police revealed approximately 50 red and green raincoats packed into vinyl bags.
