FUKUI (TR) – Fukui Prefectural Police are continuing a search for a three-year-old boy who went missing from a parking lot in Echizen City one week ago, reports Fuji News Network (Dec. 17).
At around 2:20 p.m. on December 9, Ren Tanaka, a resident of the town of Shimoshimecho, disappeared from the front seat of a vehicle belonging to his father while it was parked at a parking lot for his office.
According to the Echizen Police Station, the boy’s father left his son in the unlocked vehicle for a 10-minute period. When he returned, the boy was gone.
Located near the parking lot is a river. There is no wall between the waterway and the parking lot. Police suspect the boy tumbled into the water.
About 100 police and fire personnel are combing the area within a 2-kilometer radius of where the boy disappeared in searching for him.
The boy stands about 100 centimeters tall. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a green coat and khaki pants.
