OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested a 22-year-old male university student and one other person in the alleged sexual assault of a woman in a bar in Kita Ward earlier this year, reports Mainichi Broadcasting Service (Nov. 21).
At the end of February, Kazuma Seto (@bkukbkuk), a fourth-year student at Kindai University, and Yasutoshi Yoshitaka, 30, are alleged to have participated in the sexual abuse of the woman, aged in her 20s, who had become unconscious from being forced to drink copious amounts of champagne and beer inside bar MJ, located in the Kita Shinchi entertainment district.
The suspects have been charged with quasi-indecent assault. Police are investigating the possible participation of other persons in the alleged crime.
Prior to the incident, a party with around eight male and female guests was held at the bar. The event was promoted on Facebook as including “a no-charge limousine ride and champagne.”
“Girls are free of charge”
The matter came to light after the woman escaped from the bar and reported the incident to the Tenma Police Station.
The bar has been hosting similar parties for several years. An acquaintance of Seto told TBS News (Oct. 22), “Girls are free of charge. They were collected from talent agencies for models and high-end sex parlors.”
According to the Asahi Shimbun (Nov. 21), police on Monday searched bar MJ and the Junior Chamber International Osaka, which Yoshitaka was affiliated with at the time of the incident.
