TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested the head of an adult video (AV) label specializing in productions featuring gay men for employing an underage male actor, reports Nippon News Network (Nov. 25).
On Monday, police took Shota Oi, the 48-year-old president of label Justice Corporation, into custody for paying 200,000 yen to the boy, who was 17 at the time, to appear in films in 2013.
Oi, who has been charged with violating child welfare laws, denies the allegations. “I didn’t know the boy was under 18 years of age,” the suspect is quoted by police.
The company shipped about 1,000 copies of the AV titles in which the boy starred, including a film in the “On the Verge of a Crime” series, with sales reaching approximately 10 million yen, according to TV Asahi (Nov. 25).
Founded in 2006, Justice Corporation is known for productions starring attractive men, many of whom are models.
