Teenage motorcyclist flees scene after female passenger falls, gets run over by trailing car

TOKYO (TR) – A 16-year-old high school boy has been arrested for fleeing the scene without rendering aid after a girl fell from the motorcycle he was operating in Chuo Ward over the weekend, resulting in her death, reports Fuji News Network (July 5).

At around 5:30 p.m. on July 4, a bystander in the Kachidoki area dialed police to report an accident involving a two-seater scooter and an automobile.

Officers arriving at the scene found the girl, 15, lying in the street. Investigators believe she was riding on the pillion seat of a scooter driven by the boy.

For reasons currently unknown, she suddenly fell from the motorcycle onto the roadway, where she was struck by a car traveling directly behind them.

The victim was completely unconscious when she was transported to a local hospital. However, she was later pronounced dead.

Rather than stopping to render aid to his companion, the male driver sped away from the scene.
