Chiba man arrested after stabbing acquaintance in liver

CHIBA (TR) – Police in Ichihara City have arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after a 32-year-old man was severely stabbed at a local residence, reports Fuji News Network (May 16).

Masaya Hoshi, who describes himself as self-employed, is accused of attempting to kill the victim by stabbing him with a bladed weapon shortly after 7:00 p.m. on May 15.

The victim suffered critical injuries, with the stab wound penetrating as deep as his liver. Despite the severity of the attack, he remained conscious at the scene.

“His legs were completely covered in blood, but he was in a condition to hold a conversation,” a neighborhood resident told reporters.

While being rushed to the hospital, the victim told emergency responders, “I was stabbed by a senior acquaintance,” leading police to believe the two men knew each other prior to the altercation.

During police questioning, Hoshi has exercised his right to remain silent.

Investigators have recovered two small knives from the vicinity of the crime scene and are currently examining them to confirm if they were the weapons used in the assault.
