AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police are searching for a male assailant who fled the scene after the stabbing of a man on a street in Nagoya on Sunday, reports TV Asahi (Dec. 29).
A little after 8:30 p.m., a call was made to police. “My coworker was stabbed,” the caller said.
When police arrived at a street in Midori ward, they found the man with a knife stuck in his back. According to the fire department, the man was conscious when transported to a hospital.
The victim is a 35-year-old man who works in the delivery business. He is believed to have been working alone at the time of the incident.
The man told police, “I was stabbed from behind, so I don’t know the suspect’s face.”
The assailant fled the scene after the incident. Police are seeking his whereabouts on suspicion of attempted murder.
The incident occurred in a residential area about 2 kilometers south of Nagoya Municipal Subway’s Aioiyama Station.
