TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a computer programmer for allegedly uploading child pornography to the Internet, reports TBS News (April 19).

In June of last year, Naoharu Yasuda, a resident of Toshima Ward, is alleged to have used file-sharing software to upload a video showing a nude girl, believed to be around the age of 10, to a site visited by numerous people.

Yasuda denies the charges. He told police that he has used software to download content from the Internet, “but I have no recollection of child pornography.”

An examination of a hard disk found at the suspect’s residence revealed hundreds of files containing images and videos considered obscene by police.

Police are now investigating whether other charges can be applied to Yasuda.
