KANAGAWA (TR) – A 61-year-old woman in custody for abandoning the corpse of her common-law husband at their residence in Yokohama City has hinted at killing him, police have revealed, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 26).

At around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, Isako Shinyama arrived at the Kohoku Police Station. “I might have killed my common-law husband by holding down his face and covering his mouth and nose,” she reportedly said.

At around 5:40 a.m., officers arriving at the residence in the Okurayama area of Kohoku Ward found her common-law husband lying face-up atop a futon and not breathing.
