OKINAWA (TR) – Okinawa Prefectural Police have launched an investigation after the discovery of the decayed corpse of a woman on a beach in Urasoe City last week, reports the Okinawa Times (Oct. 5).
At around on October 3, the corpse of the woman, whose head had turned partially skeletal, was found on Kamiji Beach, according to the Urasoe Police Station.
Believed to be in her 30s to 40s, the woman stood about 149 centimeters tall. She had a ring on a finger of her right hand, police said.
The results of an autopsy revealed that she died due to drowning, police said.
The case is being treated as the result of an accident or foul play.
