Man fatally stabs colleague at pharmaceutical firm in Shinagawa

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a male employee of Daiichi Sankyo Co. over the fatal stabbing of a male colleague at an office of the pharmaceutical company in Shinagawa Ward, reports the Sankei Shimbun. (Oct. 27).

On Saturday night, Ken Sasaki, 31, allegedly used a knife to repeatedly stab the victim, aged in his 30s, in the neck and head inside a room of the office, located in the Hiromachi area.

According to the Shinagawa Police Station, the victim’s body received more than 20 stab wounds.

Sasaki, who was accused of murder the following day, admits to the allegations. “Since there was work-related trouble [between us], I held a grudge,” the suspect was quoted by police.

At the time of the incident, Sasaki was not working. According to a witness, he arrived at the office at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. After carrying out the crime, he requested that a guard alert emergency services.
